PurposeThis policy outlines the mandatory steps required to cancel a LIFE ID subscription. Due to strict Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations governing the protection of health information, specific confirmation protocols must be followed to process terminations securely.
Cancellation Process
To initiate a cancellation, the subscriber must provide explicit confirmation. Upon receiving a cancellation request, the user will be prompted to reply with “OK” or “YES” .
- Final Confirmation: Replying with “OK” or “YES” serves as the legally required confirmation to terminate access.
- Effect of Confirmation: Once confirmation is received, the subscription will be canceled, and access to LIFE ID will be terminated immediately.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
HIPAA compliance requires verified consent to close records. Therefore, users who fail to provide the required confirmation (e.g., by disputing bank transactions without sending or replying to the confirmation request), will have their LIFE ID access permanently deactivated and will not be eligible for reinstatement in the future.Summary
Cancellation is not final until the user provides the specific verbal or written confirmation required by HIPAA. Failure to adhere to this protocol results in permanent loss of access to the LIFE ID platform. These HIPAA requirements are necessary for LIFE ID’s long-term safety commitment – a small extra step that ensures lasting protection for our users.
